New Sink Faucet - makes all the difference!

Which one would you like to have in your house? The “before” or “after”? That’s what I thought – really, faucets make a difference. We’ve been through a few houses, and if the faucets are dated it really dates the whole house.

Switching out faucets is a DIY project around here. Yes, it’s something you can do yourself. The faucet comes with pretty detailed instructions. Grab them and lay out the things you’ll need:

From underneath the sink, you can see where to unscrew the old fixture:

Just remember – there can always be surprises. This sink ended up not having any shut-off valves, so while switching out the faucet those were added as well:

And this is what you’ll need for that side of the project:

So – – take out the old faucet with your wrench in hand, then you’ll have this:

Here’s some behind-the-scenes work on adding those shut-off valves and then adding foam insulation around them:

Insert the new faucet and screw it down underneath using the plumber’s putting tape and following the included instructions. Use plumbers putty around the drain to seal it.

The stick with the holes in it regulates the stopper plug when it’s pulled up and down:

Voila!! this is really is a doable DIY project – if you’ve never tried installing a faucet in your home, give it ago – you can do this!!
