Pallets and Pumpkins – perfect for fall decor! Combine them and it’s awesome. I made some super cute Mini Pallet Pumpkins and I have quick tutorial for you. These are perfect for porch decorations or anywhere where you something just a little larger scale:
I love how these turned out – simplistic yet awesome. And you won’t believe how easy they are to make!
This project is one that I came up with as my participation as a Michael’s Maker. Looking for autumn inspiration? Check out Michaels’ Fall Market lookbook. It’s time to start pinning for the fall! Browse Michaels’ Fall Ideas Pinterest board to get started.
I was at Michaels the other day browsing and discovered that they now sell these mini pallets as part of their new “RAW” line – they were on a display near the front. I knew I wanted to incorporate them into a project, and as I thought about it I knew making pumpkins would be perfect. And I’m here to show you how to make one for yourself. You’ll need:
–mini pallet (so cool that you can buy this in store!)
–orange paint (mine was too bright so I bought it and then a brown and mixed them together a little)
–tree branch
So first up, paint your pallet. I didn’t use primer or anything, and I only painted one coat of paint. I wanted that rustic feel of the pallet (wood knots, etc) to show through a little.
Then cut the tree branch to the desired length. I wanted the cut slanted just a little so it would look like a slanty stem. Then screw on the stem to the pallet to attach it. That’s it!
You can see the rustic of the pallet peeking through in this picture below:
And to give you a little perspective on size, here I am holding it for ya – perfect for decor!
I really do love how they turned out:
