When in Hawaii last year, we went to a flea market and I found a whole booth filled with discount fabric and Hawaiian prints. Dream come true. I bought several things, including this lemon fabric, which isn’t that Hawaiian but I loved it. It was perfect for this dress.
The pattern was nice because it didn’t have any pieces that you had to print and tape together. It was all rectangles via measurements.
I love that the pattern was sized for Tweens/Teens – it seems like there aren’t a ton of sewing options for that age group. This pattern was size 8yrs to 16yrs. I made the smallest size for my 8 year old. I sewed the “regular” length and it was still a little long, so I just took a wide hem.
There are several strap options and she settled on the “v in the front” choice. They come down regular in the back:
I actually made this a few weeks ago, but it’s not Red White or Blue so I had to wait til that series was over before I could show it off 🙂
It sewed together fairly quickly, and I just think it turned out so cute!!

When I looked on Etsy, the dress looks much more streamlined and not as flowly as your version – does she have different skirt options as well as straps? Thanks

you’ll have to ask on etsy about the skirt options – I can’t remember. I did make her a size up from what she normally wears so that it would last longer, so maybe that made the skirt part a little fuller than normal?? Good luck with yours!
