I Scream, You Scream…. (and GIVEAWAY!)

Ask anyone – our family LOVES ice cream.  Like, it’s a staple in our home.  When people get married and I have to write “words of advice” my go-to is “Always have ice cream in the house.” (so thoughtful, right?!) .  Even when we’re trying to be more health-conscious, we don’t cut out ice cream – we just cut back.  Ice cream is a necessity.  This summer we’ve been gorging on shakes (true story! can’t get enough) but still love the at-home option – like some of this deliciousness:

Oh yeah, we have a family night ice cream party – yum!!  Let’s break down the choices…

First up, the Reese’s ones from Good Humor – Trevor’s favorite – he loves Reese’s!!  And you know me – I don’t like anything peanut butter, so I didn’t even give this option a try.  But I hear it’s a winner if peanut butter and chocolate are your thing.
My preschooler when with the classic Popsicle – loved by all.  You know, when some days (uh, everyday!) you just need a Popsicle.  We’ve been eating these every afternoon and make a perfect summer snack.

I was super excited to try Fruttare because I hadn’t ever in the past – it was yummy!  More creamy and smooth than a popsicle.  If you are looking for a light-tasting, fruity snack, this is it.  As kids were eatting popsicles, I was devouring these.

Everyone loves Oreo ice cream (even me, and I don’t like Oreos) so these were a hit all around – the Oreo version of Klondike – yum!  Nice and hefty in their size, so you get your fill.  Love how you can just pass them out and be done.
Speaking of Oreo, we also got Oreo Breyers Ice Cream – and we ate it so fast that I totally forgot to take a picture.  I let the kids pick all the flavors, so obviously Oreo is a hit.  I love jurst regular ole ice cream because you can heap your bowl full and enjoy the awesomeness.

Another new one to me is Magnum Ice Cream  – oh man, they were amazing.   They were rich in flavor – you bite into the crispy chocolate shell and immediately there’s ooey caramel, and that surrounds the perfect ice cream.  Since they are so rich, they’re a little smaller than most ice cream bars, which really works.  I’ve been eating these at night while I blog, so I don’t have to share with any children.
Because obviously children like all sorts of ice cream treats – –

So recap – – try them all!!  I can’t decide if my favorite was the Magnum or the Fruttare – they’re both such a different taste from each other (one fruity, one chocolately) that you’ll need to have them both on hand.  You can follow along on Twitter so you don’t miss anything about the various options:

    mmm… we love regular ice cream, too, but we’ve bought both the reeses and oreo klondikes and LOVE them too… so hard to pick a favorite!

    My favorite frozen treat is definitely frozen custard! Its so smooth and yummy, I usually finish the kid’s servings as well as mine :o)

    I absolutely love mint chocolate chip ice cream… in any form! Bar, cone, scoop. Just put it directly into my mouth! lol!

    I love ice cream! One of my nicknames is Ice Cream Queen. My favorite is a LARGE bowl of ice cream with a cone on top, but really, how can you go wrong with ice cream?!

    Apparently I don’t spend enough time perusing all of the choices in the ice cream section, because I had no idea the Reese’s Bars even existed! I love ice cream of all types. Especially chocolate varieties.

    I absolutely love any of the dark chocolate Magnum Bars but the icy Popsicle treats are great for hot weather too!
