I think most of you know I’m from the Kansas City area. In Missouri – – love it! Not only is Missouri great to live in, it’s also great to visit – really! We take mini-vacations inside of Missouri all the time. Missouri will surprise you with it’s variety of options and things to do.
We are 4-5 hours away from Branson, which is an awesome vacation destination. Have you ever been?? There are shows on the strip (think mini Vegas, but more country, and family-friendly) – live music show capital of the world! – and theme restaurants and of course Silver Dollar City — LOVE that place!! My favorite amusement park for sure. Awesome rides, awesome food (really!!), awesome atmosphere. If you’ve never been , put it on your bucket list! A few pics from our trip last month, where we were able to experience the new one-of-a-kind roller coaster, Outlaw Run (of course, I can’t find a picture from that roller coaster, but it’s awesome and the world’s only wooden coaster that goes upside-down).
We also Vacation to the Lake of the Ozarks – it has more shoreline than the entire coast of California – how abuot that for a fun fact?! We enjoy water fun the most at the Lake, and skiing is one thing I can do better than Trevor:
We like to vacation to St. Louis as well. Trevor and I have gone as a getaway before. Speaking of, did you know that MO has bed & breakfasts, over 100 wineries, and over a dozen casinos, if that’s your thing. We actually got married in St. Louis and enjoy spending some of our anniversaries there:
We have also taken trips to St. Louis with the kids – – they have an awesome zoo, and it’s FREE – really! Along with the Science Center.
We also took the kids to the Arch – Gateway to the West. If you haven’t been up in the Arch, add that to your bucket list as well.
And of course we enjoy the spoils of Kansas City – – we’ve been trying to do a BBQ tour, hitting various different BBQ joints. KC tops lots of the “bests” lists for BBQ.
Kansas City also has the Nelson Atkins Museum, Kalidescope for the kids, Worlds and Oceans of Fun amusement parks, and tons more. Including Crown Center and the Plaza:
Oh, and Kansas City is know for it’s Jazz as well
What would my itinerary be for a 4-day trip to Missouri?? Well, Trevor’s sister and her family just visited for Spring Break, and they did everything I would do. A couple of days in Kansas City – eating out, seeing historical sites and museums, then a couple of days of fun in Branson, soaking in Silver Dollar City and the town itself. I’d also want to swing up and go to the Arch in St. Louis if I’d never been – how can you not if you’re so close!
Planning your itinerary?? I know you want to come – it really is a blast! You can check out all the Missouri Trip Ideas HERE.
