Homemade Peanut Butter Cups Guest Post
It’s a super versatile, easy and yummy candy to make! In the words of my man, “They’re tasty!” Poor guy was going to get a fresh batch, but I ate them all!
Here is a step-by-step visual guide:
1. Gather your materials:
Peanut butter
Almond bark or candy melts
silicone mold (check your dollar shore)
plastic bottles to pipe (or plastic bags and snip the corner)
you can also add sprinkles if you desire
2. Melt your chocolate in small increments careful not to overheat it!
Peanut butter can go straight into the bottle or bag for piping!
I like to pour mine into the bottle after this. You can certainly use a piping bag.
Seriously though, the $1.00 spent on the bottle was so worth it for me!
3. Pipe a small layer of chocolate to cover the bottom of your mold.
If your mold has small details in the bottom, use a release spray, otherwise everything will pop right out of the silicone easy!
This is when you should add your sprinkles or decorations if you desire.
4. Place in the freezer for about 5 minutes until hard.
I always like to do this in between holiday baking when I’m waiting for things to get out of the oven!
5. Once out of the freezer, repeat steps 3 and 4 with peanut butter, then chocolate again!
It goes super fast, I promise! The freezing time is prep for the next step.
6. Remove from mold and enjoy!
Be sure to “quality control” some.
If you’re patient, the peanut butter will need a few hours to solidify, I however am not and just eat as soon as the chocolate is hard.
Got someone with peanut allergies?
Try using crushed peppermints instead, they are just as yummy, promise!
