I kind of have this thing for holiday tees – but I’m also super practical, so I love having holiday tees that don’t look to “holidayish” – you know, like this tee here – it’ll work for Valentine’s Day, but it’s totally work year-round too! I saw one that I loved on Pinterest, and the DIY in me thought “I could totally make that” – and so I did 😉 So here’s the Heat Transfer Tee, you & me:
I love how it came out! and it just took a few minutes – mostly because I had everything on hand. Which is why I tell you over and over, when you go to buy a specific color/piece of vinyl, always grab extra of the basics (black, white, gray, etc) because you never know when you’ll need it. And I always grab blank tees when I see them on clearance!
I often work last-minute… other last-minute things I cranked out for Valentines – last year I even made that striped skirt the morning of church – so also stock up on fabric, for just such occasion 😉
So anyways, let’s jump right into talking about making your own tee with heat transfer vinyl!!
Heat Transfer Tee, you & me
You’ll need:
-heat tranfer vinyl (I used black for the words and glitter pink for the heart. I buy all my vinyl from Expressions Vinyl – they are my FAVORITE! affil. link)
-blank tee (I can’t remember where I got mine – maybe walmart??)
-iron (yes! you can do this with an iron – no heat press necessary)

I know you’ll ask – – the font I used on the words is “cursive” and then the “&” is a different font, I can’t remember which one, sorry!!
So you cut your words, peel out the background (that’s called “weeding”), and then iron it on. It’s more of a “press” and less of an “iron”
Wear and enjoy – – Heat Transfer Tee, you & me!
We even made a bunch of tees at my Craft Club – it was way fun – here’s a few snippets where I talk all about it:
(um, just ignore that crazy thumbnail image!!!)
And apparently making Valentine Shirts is my thing – here are some more ideas you’ll want to check out:

What is the font you used with this you & me T-shirt?
it’s called “cursive” – the “&” is in a different font, but I can’t remember it off the top of my head, sorry!
Thanks!
This is so cute! I love the font and I love the little pink sparkly heart! Great idea!
