Glowing Ring Toss

Yes, I said GLOWING RING TOSS – it doesn’t get much funner than that!

(I got this idea from the Dollar Tree Value Seekers Club)

Here’s their description of Glowing Ring Toss:  Glow sticks are a Halloween staple — they keep your kids safe and visible when out trick or treating, and add to the post-dusk fun. This year, you can keep the party going (and keep the kids distracted from their mountain of candy) with this ghostly version of a classic game! It’s also great for fall camping or as a Fall Festival game.

So, I headed to my Dollar Tree and picked up my supplies – one large 14inch glow stick, and then 4 packs of glow ring necklaces:

I made sure to pick 4 separate colors (purple, blue, pink, and green) so that each person playing could keep track of their specific color of rings.

Time to set the game up.  Then each person takes turns throwing their rings to hook them over the one in the ground.  It was a big hit!  Here are the kids playing it at our camp out last weekend (the rings are “floating” in the air because the kids are holding them, but you can’t see the kids)

It was super fun because you could play during the evening, and then again when it was dark.  And all skill levels could play – we just had my preschooler stand closer than my older kids to even the playing field.

Afterwards they used the supplies to play Glowing Capture the Flag, in the dark, which was also super fun.  No pictures of that – it was way too dark and they were moving way to fast.  But just know that it was a huge hit!
