Ah, the life of a crafter – – my daughter had a birthday party of a friend coming up (like that afternoon!) and said “can we sew her something?”. So if you’re ever in the same scenario, here’s what we (mostly SHE!) ended up making – Easy Girl and Doll Matching Dresses:
It’s just a basic pillowcase dress (I walk you through how to make one here: Pillowcase Dress – just make it shorter and leave out the shirring step and different sections of fabric) which is great because my 8 year old did almost all of the sewing herself, since it’s mostly just straight lines. Superstar! I want to do a whole post or two with different types and easy projects to use when teaching girls how to sew – hopefully I can get to that soon, because I think you’ll enjoy it.
It was a winner of a quick project for sure. Super cute, especially with the matching doll dress, and super easy – there’s not much more you could ask for!
