This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
I have the opportunity to tell you a little about Walmart and their program, Fighting Hunger Together.
The different part of this campaign is that we were encouraged to share the issue of hunger with our children. And to be able to talk to them about hunger relief. I was interested to hear about their understanding of the topic.
Trevor gathered them together and talked about how some children might not get breakfast or have to share something very small for dinner. He emphasized how we need to be grateful for our food and that we’re not hungry. The kids then discussed how we can give our food to those kids that need it and we talked about food drives and food banks. We mentioned how you can give food or you can give money to help other people buy food for those that need it.
The Fighting Hunger Together screen was pulled up on the screen in the background during the chat:
You as a reader can make a difference – Vote and volunteer to fight hunger this spring with Walmart. You get to vote once a day for a Feeding America food bank in your local community. The 100 winning food banks or partner agencies will share $3 million in grants to fund hunger relief programs – that is a HUGE initiative.
You can also make a difference through volunteer efforts – you can even plegde to volunteer at your local hunger relief organization by visiting https://wm8.walmart.com/Hunger. You can scroll down at the bottom of that page and leave a comment telling how you are helping to fight hunger in your community.
Feel free to comment on this post with why you are voting and volunteering against hunger – what is motivating you?
