Hi Sugar Bee Crafts readers! I’m Kelly and I blog at Here Comes the Sun where I share easy crafts, DIY projects and recipes. I’m so excited to be Mandy’s new Party contributor. Today I’m sharing an easy party decoration that you can use for your Halloween party or any other party that you throw… a Streamer Tassel Garland.
I like to make party decorations that are easy and utilize things that I have around the house. For this project, you’re going to need black and orange streamers, bakers twine, scissors and a glue gun. There are several ways to make a streamer tassel garland but I think that this is the easiest way. Let’s get started!
Directions:
Take one streamer and fold it back and forth a few times, leaving loops at the bottom and a “tail” at the top. I folded mine so it had about 3 loops but you can do more if you want a fuller tassel.
Pinch the top of the tassel together, twist, and wrap the “tail” end of the streamer around the pinched area. Secure the end of the tail with hot glue.
Cut the bottom loops of the streamer to create the tassel.
Repeat the above steps for as many tassels as you want to make. I made 9 tassels. Using bakers twine, tie the tops of each tassel together to form a garland. If you don’t have bakers twine, no worries. You can use string or jute.
If you want a “fuller” tassel, you can cut each streamer vertically a few times to make more strings in the tassel. You now have a beautiful streamer tassel garland for your Halloween party and you didn’t break the bank. What I like about this decoration is that you can customize it for any type of party that you have just by changing the color of streamers that you use. I love projects that are easy, cheap and versatile for lots of occasions.
