I know, I know, I JUST kicked off #ProjectCrochet on Monday and I’m already doing a follow-up post – – but I’ve got a bunch of projects on my Must-Make Crochet Projects list, so I need to hurry and jump right in. And so today is a quick showoff of the Crochet Headwrap Earwarmer:
This is a free pattern I found at The Friendly Red Fox
I liked it because it was a small project but still challenged me a little. I didn’t know what a front post double crochet or a back post double crochet were – so I pushed my skills a little. But youtube tutorials to the rescue, and once I figured those stitches out, it went really quickly. I like how the stitches weren’t too hard but game some fun texture to the project. I might crochet a little loose because mine ended up a little big (I just overlapped it a bunch on the fold), so next time I’d start by chaining about 10 less than it calls for. But I do think I crochet pretty loose.
I used Caron yarn and it was super soft – this pic doesn’t show the color well, but it’s a perfect deep teal (I’m loving that color lately)
I have a white coat, specifically so I can wear fun colors of hats and headwraps and gloves. I debuted this at ice skating – love it!
Speaking of The Friendly Red Fox, she has an etsy shop with super cute items! That’s where these mascot Bulldog Beanies came from – does it get any cuter?!
You might remember, we moved schools at the beginning of this school year. We are really loving the new school and the kids are jumping right in to the small town and all it has to offer. They’re fast becoming Bulldogs through and through 😉
What have you been up to with #ProjectCrochet? all month long, use that hashtag on social media, so we can see what crochet projects you’re working on.
