Your kids and guests will absolutely love this cake ball waffle cone dessert that is perfect for a backyard cook-out.
Hey y’all! My name is Bethany. I blog at Southern Couture and am so honored today to get to hang out with everyone. I love to share simple crafts, recipes, and party plans that won’t break the bank but still get the same gorgeous results. I would love to have you over sometime!
This cake ball waffle cone dessert is all about the red, white, and blue with a combination of cake, frosting, whipped cream, syrup, and sprinkles. Can we say delicious?
Let’s get you started now so you can enjoy a sweet treat this summer with your family too.
Ingredients:
- Waffle cones
- Blue candy melts
- Red, white, and blue sprinkles
- Red velvet cake balls*
- Whipped cream
- Strawberry syrup
*Cake balls are so simple and easy to make. Check out this post to see how to make your own. You will simple just want to make the recipe until the cake ball and not use lollipop sticks like it says with cake pops.
Start by melting your blue candy melts according to package directions. Once the candy is smooth, dip the rim and as far down as you want of your waffle cone into the candy.
Dip the cone into the sprinkles or shake them onto the candy before it hardens.
Once your waffle cones have hardened, place your cake balls into the cone until it is full. My waffle cones were smaller and held about 2 each.
Spray whipped cream on top and drizzle with strawberry syrup and sprinkles.
This is such a fun treat to enjoy outdoors for something a little different than ice cream this summer. Your kids will also love making them with you.
Enjoy with a fork or just get messy and eat it with your hands. After all it is summer and a backyard BBQ so who cares?
Hope you enjoy your summer and July 4th! Thank you so much for having me and hope you enjoy this fun, sweet treat.
If you enjoyed it, then you will love my copycat caramel waffle cone frappucino. It’s another perfect dessert to enjoy in the heat this summer.
