Birthstone Locket – Mother’s Day Gift Idea

I really love giving personalized gifts – I look for that opportunity any chance I get. So of course when I was challenged to create a Mother’s Day gift idea, personalized was the first thing that came to mind.  I settled on this fun birthstone locket as a Mother’s Day Gift Idea – it’s a locket for my grandma, filled with the birthstones that represent each of her great-grandchildren. Fun, right?!

I really love how it came together, and it was so simple to create!  The owl locket is perfect because she collects owls, but they had other plain lockets as well, if you want a more simplified look.

I grabbed all my supplies at Michaels – have you seen their diy jewelry section? I could browse it for hours, so many fun things!

The locket just opens up (it has a magnetic closure that holds it shut).  You can fill it with all sorts of fun charms – I used a few hearts and arrows…

And then birthstones of each of the great grandkids:

And then just carefully shut the locket – that’s all there is to it!  I also threaded it onto a necklace chain so it’s ready to wear.

I just love how it turned out!
