There’s a new baby in the family! And to secure my spot as the crafty aunt, I whipped up these super cute Big Sister Little Brother Shirts. I used vinyl from Expressions Vinyl, which is my go-to place to buy all heat transfer vinyl. (I even got to tour their facility when I was on vacation a couple weeks ago, which made me love them even more!!)
As you know, I’m in love with all things Heat Transfer Vinyl – it’s my favorite thing to cut on my Silhouette . And this gold shimmer and gold glitter vinyl are just super awesome! The shine and shimmer are even awesomer in person – I wish you could come on over and see it:
When making DIY tees, think outside the box a little – here I used a striped tee that I had on hand instead of a plain one, and I just love it. (It was even long-sleeved and I cut and sewed a hem to make it short-sleeved – pretty proud of that!)
The biggest tip I have for cutting Heat Transfer Vinyl is to remember to mirror your image. It cuts from the back side, so your image needs to be backwards. I forgot to flip my image more than I care to admit 😉
And it’s super fun to layer different vinyl – you cut it all out separate and then layer it when you iron it onto the shirt.
I know you’ll ask – the fonts I used were “Bebas Neve” for BIG and “Lasermetal” for SISTER and BROTHER – love both those fonts!!
And quick update – – they’re the cutest little siblings – looks like she’s settling right in and filling that role as Big Sister 😉
