Organize all the things! There’s just something about organization that makes everything better 😉 I wanted to show off how I have my jewelry organized – it’s my favorite way I’ve ever had it. And yes, I have a lot of jewelry – no judging zone!! (when it’s cute $5 jewelry, I can’t get enough!) I hop you enjoy my how-to for Simple Jewelry Organization.
All this takes is some leftover trim boards, those cup hook things, and some chain and screws. See, easy peasy – simple is the way to go.
Location for Jewelry Organization
In my bedroom there is a small wall that is located right behind where an exterior door opens up. So no furniture or large things can go on that wall because the door wouldn’t be able to open. But staring at it, I realized something flat could go on that wall, and still let the door open. Something like jewelry 😉 The downside is that there is exposure to direct sunlight, which can fade out jewelry pieces over time, so take that into account.
Creating Jewelry Hooks
You’ll need:
–trim boards
–hammer and nail (optional)
I was so excited about the project – and it went so quickly – I forgot to take step-by-step pics! But I can walk ya through it. First I had some leftover trim boards cut to fit in the space. I used 2 boards, one for short necklaces and one for long. Then I measured out even spaces and hammered a nail on my marks so as to have a starter hole. Hammer the nail slightly in and then pull it out so that it creates a starter hole.
Then I used cup hooks (little bitty hooks with a screw on one end) and screwed them in to the holes, just twisting them in by hand. That was it!
We attached the boards to the wall using screws and I puttied and painted over the screw, so you can’t see them.
Earring Organization Storage
For the earrings, I used a chain and I LOVE it – it’s a perfect solution for large-ish earrings. I actually had to add a second chain – only had one originally 😉 I keep the earring backs in a little dish on my dresser and just hang all the earrings by their earring hooks. The chain is attached by screws, one on each end and one in the middle, so the chain doesn’t sag too much.
Jewelry Storage Recap
I can’t tell you how much I love this, and how well it’s working for me!! My jewelry gets put away because it actually has a spot, and I love being able to see all my accessories in one glance. So pretty!

I love what you have done with your jewelry, but what did you do with your post earnings?
Mandy Beyeler says
I have a small jewelry chest on my dresser that holds the post earrings, so they’re in a separate spot – great question!

are they just all mixed together?

I have created a pegboard to hang all of my necklaces The only problem I have had is that they tend to get dusty. As a temporary solution I have dusted them all and hung a piece of fabric over them all. I’m going to have to figure a way to enclose my storage, possibly a shallow depth cabinet with doors.

Where did you gCet the chain at for the ear rings?
Mandy Beyeler says
I just grabbed it at the hardware store

I love this idea! In my last apartment, I had a wall behind a door and just put everything on push pins in the wall. This is much nicer. How far apart do you have the hooks for the necklaces?

I tried to do this but I can’t find a chain that is the right size. Do you have a link to what you used?
