Yes, for today’s What I Wore Wednesday, I thought I’d recap what I wore to SNAP, in case you wonder what to wear for a blog conference. But this is just from me, and I’m no expert – not even a fashion guru, so take it as you will:
Most my outfits are based on comfort and practicality, all while trying to be a little fashionable. Here we go:
Flying out – – I wore my jacket because there was no room to pack it. I wore comfy jeans and just a basic striped shirt and cardigan. I had socks in my carry-on for when my feet got cold on the plane. And I didn’t get a great picture – oh well:
Day 1: Thursday – – go in making a good impression! I got this shirt the day before I flew out at some weird store in the strip mall by our dollar store – but I think I might go back in because it was reasonably priced and had some good things. This shirt was only $15 and came with a necklace. I liked that it was flowy which seems to be in style, but still fitted around the mid-section. I paired it with my mint jeans and leopard shoes for a pop of pattern:
Thursday Night was a PJ Party – I made pants to match my blog colors and love how they turned out (more on them later). I got the headwrap in my swag bag and the sweatshirt from The Printed Palette (they sent it to me to wear to the conference) – it’s my new favorite sweatshirt! So cozy but still so cute – you can’t beat that:
An upclose of the headband and sweatshirt. I’m wearing the sweatshirt again as I type – really, I love it. Be warned that they run a little small – I normally wear an XS or S and I’m wearing a Medium. Also, see my phone in the pouch in the picture above? Yes, I had to have a roommate call it to see where it was – in my pocket. funny. The sweatshirt says “Live Live Anchored” – perfect. Check out The Printed Palette to find one you love.
Day 2: Friday – This is actually pretty out there for me. I grabbed this coral crop sweater for $1 at the 1/2of1/2 discount store, thinking I’d wear it once or something. I got the white crop jeans there too, for only $7, and they’re super good quality. Anyways, when a friend was helping me pack she said that the crop sweater was my best outfit (I hadn’t even put it in as a choice – it was off to the side). I was like, what?! I’m not wearing that to a real place! But one thing lead to another, and there I was, in a cropped sweater:
Day 3: Saturday – this was probably my favorite – because I’m wearing tall shoes (yes, I’m short in real life – new to a lot of people). The shirt is from that strange store near the Dollar Store, and the best part about it is the back, which of course I didn’t take a picture of. It’s all lace and open and awesome. I wore my hair up so you could see the back.
Saturday Night was the closing dinner and party. I made an outfit change to this knit dress (again, from that store – see why I need to go back – this was only $14). I thought this was a good outfit to be just a little more dressy but still casual. And it was really comfortable, so a win-win. I might have belted around the cardigan, but my belt was clear at the bottom of my suitcase and I had already packed it perfectly to fit everything, so I wasn’t undoing that.
Sunday – heading home. I’m wearing a tshirt from one of the SNAP sponsors (their were several sponsor shirts that were cute and wearable instead of just being plastered with a logo), AND a cardigan I bought at the Queen Bee Market, AND my jacket, AND my big shoes – all things that would not fit in my suitcase. Including 2 umbrellas.
So when dressing for a Blogging Conference, keep in mind:
- comfort
- style – you can still have cute things and be comfortable
- be yourself – I didn’t want to be so dressed up that I wasn’t me
- bring tall shoes if you’re short. Even better if they go with every outfit you bring 🙂
Thoughts on the outfits?? How about the crop sweater? – I was iffy on it for sure. Do you have suggestions on what to wear to a blogging conference?
