This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Social Power for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
I just found out about a new initiative, called Social Power – every heard of it?? It’s a pretty cool concept. Basically, you have an idea about somethign that you want to change, and you post it as a Social Power Issue. When 1,000 agree with you that it’s an issue, it turns into an Initiative – cool, right?!
Here’s a short video clip that explains the program really well – worth watching:
Through social power, we are given the power to make a difference, and a force behind that power. Some examples of issues could be “Supermarkets should offer all food that’s about to expire at 50% off” or “Chipotle should deliver”. I’m sure the wheels are already turning for you, thinking about great ideas you’ve had to change something.
Co-founder “Gleich views such issues as the key to Social Power’s success, and foresees Social Power empowering every individual. “It doesn’t take a soapbox and a bullhorn to change the game,” says Gleich. “All it takes is an Internet connection and a meaningful issue.”

You all know that I recently traveled for the SNAP creative blogger conference. Well, I had to pay to check my bag on the way back. The social issue I posted was that I think every airline should allow for 1 checked bag per passenger at no cost.
I was loaded down at SNAP – –
And so I checked a bag. And it was frustrating that there was an additional fee. If everyone were given one free checked bag, people would be more likely to check a bag – which would free up more space for those carrying-on and make the flight a better over-all experience. Plus for those who have to check a bag (like me!) it would make traveling just a little more affordable.
Are ya with me on this one?? You can go to SocialPower.com, watch the intro video, and support/comment on/share the issue (and others!) within your social network. And you can find my issue here: https://socialpower.com/i/537/Airlines-should-eliminate-fees-for-1-checked-bag
