A new feature, starting today – – each week I’m having one of you, a fabulous fan, pick some show offs from the linky party. To kick it off is Brianne, my friend since before birth (our moms took Lamaze class together) – she lives for the link parties each week! Take it away Brianne (here’s a pick of her I took recently) –
Okay, here’s my picks and reasons for why Iove these 10:
#15, chocolate marshmallow cookies… Not only do these look classy, they’re deceptively easy! I love the idea of taking a simple cookie and classing it up. What a good recipe and idea!
#16, Amy Butler fringed hobo bag... I may be biased, but having seen this bag in person, I love it. Kate did a great job, It looks so great with everything, I want one… bad. And just a note on having a key hook: My Orla Kiely bag is the first purse I’ve owned with a key hook, and I love it. Makes finding keys so easy!!!
#25, Z Gallerie Subway Art Copy… While this isn’t my style at all, my sister-in-law loves all things Z Gallerie. She bought a throw there that is almost as much as my mortgage. I sent her this DIY link and she LOVED it, pretty sure she’s going to try it herself. I love looking at the DIY blogs, when something expensive is made for way less and looks just as great.
#38, Salvage Edge Drawstring Bag… While I’m not crazy about a drawstring bag, I really like the ecclectic look of this. I’m wondering what else I could make with this idea.
#41, Pretzel Dogs… I had these for the first time at a Cardinals game in St. Louis and OH BOY were they delicious! I already forwarded this link to my mom and we WILL be making pretzel dogs for the next bbq/pool party. Delicious.
#50 and #53, button earrings… Hard to decide which of these posts I like better since they’re so similar. I rarely wear post earrings, but my love for buttons trumps comfort. I’m not sure I’d do this on my own, but this would be a fun activity with friends assuming everyone had some random buttons they wanted to get rid of.
#64, Paint Swatch Scavenger Hunt... Cutest idea ever! I can see this working with young and older kids and being a fun way to spend a few hours outside.
#99, Tissue Roll Organizer... Now this is a craft I could do and have fun with! Perfect to give as teacher gifts, too!
#115, Clothespin Cup Clips... I love this idea! There are so many cute wine glass charms, but for those of us that don’t regularly use a wine glass this is a great solution! I’m already planning out how I’m going to do this one myself.
#313, Repurposed Window Frame... I think this look is really “in” right now and it’s so versatile for any home and style. My sister-in-law was telling me about one she saw that utilized clips, dry erase surface, pegs, etc. that really made it both decoration and useful. She said you can get these window frames at stores for around $30… Is that a little high? I could see myself doing this, too.
#390, Crayon Monograms... For 25 cents, I can’t think of a cuter craft for teachers and really anyone that loves color!
My ALL TIME FAVORITE this week has to be:
#176, Washer Bracelet... I LOVE THIS!!! I love chunky jewelry, and I have already shown this bracelet to several people in my family. I can’t wait to make this! I can’t wait to wear it!! It’s so unique, and yet doesn’t look trashy and homemade. I love all the circles, washer-thingys, it reminds me of a Tiffany bracelet that costs around $400. This is a cheap substitute that doesn’t look cheap to me at all. Look at this site, too, lots of cute washer jewelry that I love.
And honorable mention goes to:
#230, Library Book Shower… This baby shower is impressive. All the little details are what make this party amazing! The pennant banner, the cupcakes, the favors, the food itself, so perfect! I wonder how long it took to prepare for this shower!!!
