If you are looking for a fun, inexpensive, DIY Valentine idea for kiddos to pass out at school, I’ve got ya covered today! Grab a rock and paint it, and bam, done – really! I just LOVE how these turned out. I think they’re great for boys too, which sometimes can be hard to find when it comes to Valentines. And I made a printable for you, so that part is taken care of too! Today it’s all about the You Rock Valentine with printable:
This is a simple project that the kids will LOVE to be involved in! All kids love to paint, that’s for sure.

You’ll Need:
–rocks
–paint
–printable tag (FREE, download it here: You Rock Printable)
You Rock Valentine Tutorial
First up, you’ll want to prep your rocks. I gave ours a quick rinse because they had some dirt and dust on them. Then I went ahead and painted all the rocks white. I did this so that the colors would pop more. Once the white was dry, I painted on the desired colors. I just used regular craft paint for both the colors and the white. I painted 2 coats of color.
Once the color coat was dry, I painted a small heart on each rock – I just love this touch to the project!
It’s fun to have lots of different color options!
Then to attach the tag, I just used twine wrapped around the rock – easy peasy!
I just love how they turned out!!
