Hello loyal blog readers – – so today I’ve got nothing. We moved this past weekend, and all of life is either packed in boxes or strewn across the floor in chaos. So there’s that craziness, plus the house isn’t done and I’m supposed to be painting trim (my new nemesis) which means I didn’t have a craft project ready to share with ya today, bummer. BUT, I found this in my drafts – – which means I wrote it, but meant to take more pictures or whatever… but I’ll just throw it out there as a happy Wednesday taste of a project 😉
Have you ever made something awesome with Duck Tape? We love making Pom Pom Pens around here – it’s super fun and super easy to do – – it’s a craft that even the kids can jump in on!
So, to get started, you’ll need:
–Duck Tape (it comes in such fun patterns and colors – you can really expression your crafty side in your tape choices)
–Scissors
–Pen to cover
First you will want to put off a piece of Duck Tape about 6 inches long. Then fold it in half, leaving one side of the sticky tape slightly exposed. After that, cut slits about 1/4 inch apart, all along the folded edge.
Once you’ve snipped all the slits, you will roll up the length of Duck Tape around and around the top of the pen, creating layers. This will create the pom pom affect.
You can add a second color of pom pom around the top of the original pom pom, repeating the steps above.
After your pom pom is complete, you will wrap the main part of the pen in a coordinating
