I just HAVE to share about my Christmas Cards this year – I LOVE them!! I don’t normally order them so early, but I knew I’d need to show them off to you….
My sister-in-law Amber designed them – I knew just want I wanted and spouted off a million requirements, and she had them ready in a day – wow! I thought about trying to make them myself, but I knew it’d take me a week or so. Anyways, I told her I wanted a pennant shape, but only on the bottom part, a big picture, a Merry Christmas on top, the background in gray chevron zigzag, a circle with the year with our family name around the edge – they came out just how I pictured. I had seen some printables kind of like this on HowDoesShe, but they weren’t exactly want I wanted, so I’m glad I was able to get just what I pictured.
And yep, she has an Etsy Shop Amber Williams Designs, where you can buy my exact card front (well, with your family picture instead of mine, you know….)
So sidetrack, last year I got my cards from Less Ordinary Designs – also loved them and all of her designs – and I was spoiled because they were cardstock double-sided (random, see my last year family pictures HERE):
I always highly recommend ordering prints through MPix – such great quality, and while I was there looking around at prints, I noticed something – they offer Cardstock Cards, double-sided (they are the “DIY flat cards” HERE). So I wanted to do the same as last year, double-sided cardstock cards – wahoo!!
Okay, back on track – – so my cards are double sided – – I told Amber the shape had to match the front – – they’re printed as rectangles, but I cut the blank spot using scissors to make the pennant shape. Then I wanted the same chevron background then individuals of the kids, plus a couple of group shots. And I wanted it to direct people to our blog. I didn’t know if she’d get it all to fit, but she did and it looks great!
She also did cards for my mom – once again, you can buy that design in her shop. My moms are just printed as photo prints – such a super cheap and easy option:
Random, if you missed our family photos for this year, that link is HERE.
So now’s the time – – go head out and order those Christmas Cards!!
