ah, my master bedroom — the never-ending project. What’s it been, 2 years? I’m really good about jumping right into a project, painting a room, etc. But most my projects end at about 80% complete – I’m not so good at finishing details, etc. So I’ve had nothing on my walls in my bedroom for a long time. It’s time to get it done!
It felt like an overwhelming thing because I didn’t know what all to put on the wall – I had a stack of mirrors and empty frames (you know I love a good frame wall) and I had Trevor hold up all sorts of different options. In the end I used almost nothing on the wall and really like the simplicity of it.
The quote wall art I made a year ago and it’s been sitting on the floor in my room ever since then – nice to finally get it hung up! It’s on a piece of plywood (you can read more about how to get wood letters on a board at that link) and it has spacers between the wall and board so it “floats” a little. Love that.
I had a wedding snapshot printed onto a canvas (I’ve mentioned it before – one of my life regrets – not getting a wedding photographer!) and frame it and then framed that. Double frame power. I want to paint the gold frame, but I’m not sure what color, and I guess I don’t mind it as-is.
A friend suggested using peacock feathers in a few decor items, and I’m all about doing what people tell me. This is our change jar, and Trevor blogged about how it’s now un-useable, but it looks great! I grabbed the peacock feathers at Michael’s Craft Stores and I really like them!
So that’s one side of the room – – maybe one day I’ll get to the other side that needs work 🙂
Oh, when I posted about the master bedroom pillows a reader suggest that I don’t stack the euro shams quite as high, so as to still show the headboard. Good one! so here’s how I had it:

Based on your ability to use peacock feathers as decor, I am guessing you don’t have cats 🙂

It’s beautiful!! I love the art and the wall above the bed!

I am loving the wall behind the bed. I am the same as you get most done but then have a hard time finding what I want to finish off the space.

Great progress! I am still working on my master bedroom too. The paint has been sitting there in the can for so long that I am probably going to have go get it re-shaken before we paint the walls!
