You’ve probably seen this before – it’s been on my to-do list forever. But now that we live in the country(ish), my parents have chickens and there was a new, spare, chicken feeder, begging to be filled with candy. Yep, you’re going to have to brave the farm store, but for just a couple dollars you can make your own awesome Mason Jar Candy Dispenser.
It’s super simple and can be put together in just a few minutes – I didn’t know if it was too easy of a project to post about, but I figure I’d throw the idea out there for you:
So you’ll need: – – a chicken feeder thing, a mason jar (or any jar really) and a couple of bags of candy that is small enough to fit out the feeder.
Fill your jar up with candy. Now at this point you can attach the feeder to the top of the jar and just flip it over. But you’ll get a bit of void in the jar (it’ll look half empty) because the candy will fill in to the feeder. So I thought I’d prefill part of the feeder. Which means I had to tip the jar onto the feeder to attach it. Really fast so no candy would spill out. It still spilled, but I think it was worth the effort to have a more full-looking jar.
That’s all there is to it! Display and expect it to be eaten – we went through all this in one day – yowza! It can be for any holiday – or anytime really. Yum!
II’ts very cleaver! I thought I might be able to use it to dispense kitty treats, but they wouldn’t be able to get them out of those holes. Thanks for sharing!
