You guys!! I did it!! I CROCHETED something to WEAR! This is a first and a HUGE accomplishment. I’m super proud of this DIY Crochet Cardigan and am excited to share it here with you.
See, it actually turned out and I really love it! Here are some images that you can pin for later:
Handmade versus Store-bought
So here’s the thing – I have a cardigan that is SUPER similar to the one I made. I picked it up at the thrift store for a few dollars. The one I made cost way more than that just in yarn supply. PLUS it took me hours and hours to make. But guess what, I love the handmade one more!
It’s a perfect example of WHY we create, of WHY we spend time making things – we love the process, the learning of how to make something, and feel so ACCOMPLISHED when the project is complete. It has a little bit of my heart and soul in it. It brings me such joy to be able to make something! THAT is why we create!!
Alchemy Cardigan
A few things I love about this cardigan – first off, POCKETS! because I NEED pockets!
Also, the fun cuff details – I still need to add buttons, and I think I might adjust to have a thicker cuff, but I love all the details:
Alchemy Cardigan Crochet Pattern
I used the Alchemy Cardigan Crochet Pattern from Make and Do Crew. I loved that there were videos to go along with each step – I am definitely not the strongest crocheter, so lots of these stitches were new to me. Watching the how-to was super beneficial! I would highly recommend this pattern and project to anyone who has some experience with crochet and is looking to try to make something to wear.
Cardigan Outfits
I am obsessed with cardigans, I love to layer them all day every day! This is a perfect addition to any outfit!
PS, the super cool fringe earrings are from my $5 Jewelry over at Sugar Bee Bling.

Looks great and high quality. Handwork has always been appreciated and looks stylish, especially if made for yourself and with love.
