I had never thought to make my own dishwasher soap, even though I’ve been making my own laundry soap for years (see here). When I saw this post on Simply Designing, I knew it was written for me!
My jars aren’t cute like Ashley’s yet, but I have the recipe sitting and waiting to be cut out of vinyl…..
Bye bye cloudy glass!!

Just started making my own laundry detergent this weekend! I am using a powdered version though. Basically your recipe but with some Oxi-Clean. Loving it so far! Might have to try this dishwasher detergent after I run out. Thanks!!

Hmm, I may have to try this! I have both of these jars! I kept the one that used to have honey it..I send them back to our friend for free honey refills! 🙂 Maybe I’ll try this soap and put that in it instead.:)

How does wit work? I just ran out of my free detergent from my couponing days a few years ago. I just bought a big thing at Sam’s but I’d love to make my own(I also my my own laundry detergent too),

Hopefully it works. I won’t even go into how bad your dishwasher is.

I tried this recipe and placed it in (what I thought were) airtight containers, and now the stuff is hard as a rock. Any hints on how to revive it, or is it just ruined?

I just tried this recipe as well. Mine also is very hard and difficult to remove from the airtight containers I placed it in. This is disappointing to say the least. My husband thinks it has something to do with the kosher salt.
