Yep, it’s time to start thinking costumes – you might not be ready, but I know your kids have been thinking about it since, well, last Halloween.
As you might guess, I LOVE a good family-themed costume set. But as you can see above, there is no theme. The last few years we’ve settled into an unspoken compromise – we throw together a fun and easy family-themed costume set to wear all-together to parties, like our church fall festival party, but for school and actual Trick-or-Treating, the kiddos can pick what they want to be. It’s a win-win.
SO – with the kids picking their own costumes, let me rave about online shopping. For life in general, I love online shopping. And Halloween Costumes is no exception. I was sent some costumes from HalloweenCostumes.com, but all opinions are my own.
Shopping online at HalloweenCostumes.com was super easy! No hassle of dragging all 4 kiddos out to the store (that’s never fun!) and they had TONS more options than the stores. And I could shop with each kiddo one-on-one – – as they finished their jobs for that day, they got to come sit with me and browse through options on the compute (my kind of shopping!). And on top of that, everyone likes getting a package!
Some knew exactly what they wanted – – like this guy, dead set on a green ninja – and they had it (phew!) I ordered it just a little big so that he could get years of use out of it (and I know he will – playing ninja is fun!)
And you can also find accessories to go with the costumes – like this sword backpack thing – because every ninja needs a couple of swords in easy reach. I wish the sword case adjusted to a little smaller, so I might need to modify it just a little.
Others had no idea what they wanted to be, and browsed and browsed… like this one…. she finally settled on this super cute Peacock
The tail-feather velcros on, much like wings to a fairy costume. i wish it stood up just a little straighter, but the wing flair-out is cute too. It didn’t come with leggings but we had some on hand – otherwise I think it’s too short to wear by itself. She can’t wait to get hair and makeup done to complete this outfit – so cute!
He took awhile to decide as well, waffling between a football player and this clone costume (is it Commander Rex? I can’t remember…) – HalloweenCostumes.com had tons of deluxe costumes like this one (the gun we already had on hand) and the helmet is what makes the look extra awesome:
Now, we did run into one hitch – – this one knew she wanted to be Taylor Swift, but when searching for that nothing came up. BUT, they did have a Pop Star outfit, which was perfect. You have to see the sequins in person to appreciate them – they swish when she walks. The boots didn’t come with the costume, but again, they have TONS of accessories you can add on, and the boots were one of them. I think they really complete the look:
Now, as with all costumes, these are costume-quality. Keep that in mind – it’s that stretchy jumpsuit-type stuff where you step in and velcro it shut around the neck. I know costumes can add up (especially when you need four!) and I love they my kids love playing games and dress-up – so I know that these costumes will get lots of use, even after Halloween.
So take the easy way of shopping – check out HalloweenCostumes.com. Do your kiddos know what they want to be yet?
