So when we lived in Wichita, we bought our house in the middle of winter. So you can imagine my surprise when in the Spring, even before the grass turned back green, thousands of bulbs started coming up. It was amazing!! There were in a bunch in back too – this is the front view:
I loved taking the kids pictures in front of them (don’t they look so young!)
Ever since that first spring in that house, I’ve LOVED bulbs. I loved that the homeowners before us loved bulbs and that they took the time to plant them for us to enjoy years later. I’m super bad at plants, so ones that just come up on their own are awesome! Trevor would cut them right out of the yard and we would have many vases filled with fresh flowers on our table. Loved it.
So have you heard of the site Dig Drop Done? ( visit www.digdropdone.com to learn more) – – it’s so fun and makes me know that I can plant bulbs – easy peasy! They’ve got 3 ladies leading you through the site – I relate to Marcy, the supermom, because she’s a beginner at bulbs and is go go go, but they represent all of us – here’s a screen shot:
There is a bunch of super helpful info for beginners – they make it sound so doable. I really think they’ve convinced me to plant some bulbs this spring – – just a quick screen shot of one of many helpful pages:
