Birdsong Bows (www.birdsongbows.etsy.com and www.birdsongbows.com) was “hatched” in 2006 when Deanna couldn’t find the right bows to match her daughter’s school uniform. A life-long crafter and artist, Deanna decided to make them herself.
She exclusively sold bows until 2010, when she taught an online class in bowmaking. Since then, Deanna, a writer by profession, has written 15 patterns and tutorials (including one in Spanish) to show fellow crafters and sewists how to make various types of hair bows, tutus, and fabric, felt and ribbon flowers. In addition to the PDF patterns, Deanna maintains a private video blog that accompanies some of the tutorials. A visual learner, she knows that it’s sometimes easier to watch difficult steps than to see them on paper! Many customers have said the complimentary blog was a great help, especially while learning how to make boutique hair bows.
Deanna loves to offer sales and specials on her Facebook page, www.facebook.com/
“I love when someone has just opened up a shop with beautiful hair accessories, and I know that I’ve helped her reach a goal,” she said. “It’s exciting when someone tells she’s made her first sale!”
Deanna is giving away a 3-pack of patterns of the winner’s choice! To sign up:
1. Visit Birdsong at www.birdsongbows.etsy.com and come back here to leave a comment on this post telling us which pattern is your favorite.
2. “Like” Birdsong Patterns on Facebook, www.facebook.com/
