this post is part of my role as a Michael's Maker - all opinions are my own
I might be obsessed with collections, and this Ampersand Wall is no exception. Obsessed! It just calls to me, all the variations and textures and the openness of the”&”.
Traditionally, of course, the ampersand is a symbol representing “and,” but to most who use it in their home decor, an “&” means much more than that. Do you have ampersands in your decor? Ever wondered why? Are you in the camp of those who come in and say “what’s with the AND wall?”
The best part about crafting is putting your own spin on a project. Whether it’s decorating with marquee lights or crafting with initials , Michaels has made it easy with their new Alphabet Soup by Make Market™ line of products.
A couple of the meanings behind the ampersand appeal to me. First, it is seen as a symbol of family, as in “You &…”, we’re all together. It brings words like “you & me” closer than using “and” would, so it’s that close-knit family relationship.
And then secondly, some consider the ampersand design a symbol of discovery. Of hope of more – of what’s coming next. Fun, right?!

“An ampersand gives us hope that there is always an ‘and.’” – Unknown

I love your wall of ampersands. I collect R’s (for our last name) and my kids are forever teasing me because I can never say no to a pretty R.

Hi Mandy, very interesting blog, love the ideas (and sharing of other people’s ideas too). I was wondering if you might consider changing the color of your font? It’s a little faint and therefore hard to read on the computer screen. Love to read what you DIY/craft next!
