Hello everyone! My name is Mindy from MyCreativeScoop! I’m so happy and excited to be apart of this amazing Red, White and Blue Series here at Sugar Bee Crafts! I have created a little crafting home decor piece that is perfect for a table setting during your Summer festivities!
Step 1. Apply Gesso to your entire canvas.
Step 2. Using red and blue paint I painted stripes and little stars all over the canvas. I even used a glitter spray ink for more texture and for a different effect.
Step 3. Then I took some repositional vinyal words and placed them on my canvas. I hadn’t figured out how and where exactly I wanted the words so to be on the safe side I colored the entire canvas with the stripes.
Step 4. Once the red and blue paint is completely dry add another layer of Gesso. Once the Gesso is dry add a layer of white paint. You can use a heat tool to help the process of drying. Don’t hold the heat tool too close to the canvas you can burn the paint and it will start to bubble.
Step 5. After the layer of white paint is dry you can pull off the vinyal wording and you will have a cool red, white and blue pattern as your words.
I hope you have enjoyed my little tutorial for SugarBeeCraft’s Red, White and Blue Guest Blogger series. Thank you again for having me.
