Have you ever heard of a sock bun?? You can check out about tutorials on Pinterest if you’re interested. Kate I call that bun-on-top-of-your-head look the “blogger bun” because so many people at SNAP were sporting the look. I want to grow my hair out just so I can wear my own hair in a blogger bun.
Instead of using a sock, I bought this handy mesh-covered foam donut – – it’s kind of weird looking:
It makes for really cute buns. And on girls they are over-the-top – love it! There is a smaller size donut thing to buy, but I don’t mind that kapow look on them. I guess you’re supposed to roll it down, but here I did more of a poof and wrap method:
Compare that to my younger daughter who is just rockin’ a regular bun – just not as mammoth. They have the same length hair. They both love having that big bun, so I think I need to invest in another donut thing.
Cute sisters:
My 3 year old even rocks the sock bun. It’s a great way to add volume! Your girls are too cute.
I love these hair donuts! I just bought one last week – – definitely beats using an old sock. I don’t think we even have any tube socks I could have used :/.
I’ve seen so many cute ideas for buns using these, and I can’t wait to try them out; I got so many compliments just wearing the “traditional” bun!
Love your blog – – just getting started out myself. Thanks for sharing all of your craftiness!

I can’t wait for my hair to be long enough for a sock bun, because you just cannot get that volume without something in there… whether it’s a sock or a donut.
Where did u find yours?
I love those, I just bought one for myself this weekend!
I love it!
They’re so cute together!!! I could see this being an easy hair do for those busy school mornings!
