Today I want to show you how to make a piece of Halloween décor that is super versatile. You can use these cupcake liner balls as topiaries, incorporate them into a tablescape, or add height and layers to your décor by hanging them from the ceiling or chandelier.
So many fun options with this project!!
Supplies needed:
-Halloween Cupcake Liners (I used themed ones and then some plain purple and orange ones)
-foam balls
-hot glue gun and extra hot glue sticks
-wooden skewers (burlap if desired)
Depending on how you plan to display your Décor Ball, you may also need:
-vase, glass jar, etc
-jar filler such as holiday candy
-thin string or thread
Take a cupcake liner and turn it inside-out. Put a dab of hot glue on the non-colored side of the liner (where the real cupcake would go) and press the liner onto your foam ball. You want the liners to be inside out so that as you fill your ball, you can still see the colors and designs of the liners. Repeat attaching liners until ball is covered and visually appealing.
Then, squeeze a few more liners in to insure that it is really full. This time, do not turn them inside-out – instead use them as-is by pinching the middle into a fold and adding the hot glue at that spot. This will add some depth and variety to the ball.
If desired, wrap your skewer in burlap to give it extra texture. Leave a few inches clear on the point end.
Push the point end into the foam ball.
Display according to your preference – in a jar as a topiary, several lined up as a tablescape, or tie string around the end of the skewers and hang them upside-down from the ceiling or chandelier.
