The other day my girls asked if they could make themselves a Harry Potter shirt – perfect timing, because I knew it was Happy Harry Potter over at Raegun Ramblings, where you’ll find tons of crafty ideas for Harry Potter – so fun, right?! They did a great job from conception to execution, and so I wanted to share with you their DIY Harry Potter Tshirts – –
First up, they decided on their image. I directed them to find something simple (cause it’s easier to make that way). Then I used my Silhouette machine to cut out Heat Transfer Vinyl (affiliate link, but I seriously love Expressions Vinyl – it’s where I order all my vinyl, and I obviously can’t get enough of their glitter HTV – and shipping is lightning fast). If you don’t have a cutting machine, these images are simple enough that you could trace and then hand-cut them onto vinyl. (heads up, with text, like the “HP”, you’ll need to mirror the image, which is cut it out backwards. If you’re hand-cutting, you can just cut it out regular from the backside of the vinyl)
After you get it cut, place it on your shirt where you think it’s in the right spot – this took them a while to decide that they had it centered:
Next up comes the ironing. Pressure is key, so really push down and adhere that vinyl to the tshirt. It also helps to have your shirt prewashed.
Then you simply peel off the clear carrier sheet. I iron again, just for good measure. Then wear and enjoy! It’s hard to capture the sparkle of the glitter, but it’s awesome.

I think that one was just a tee from target, but it was a few years ago – hopefully they still have something similar!!
